Overview and Responsibilities
SUMMARY:
- Nickelodeon Animation has an exciting new opportunity for a Department Assistant to work on a CG animated sitcom. We are seeking candidates who are familiar with the CG animation pipeline and Unreal Engine 4. The Department Assistant is responsible for helping with software and hardware requests, manages the day to to day technical organization of the team, and provides support to the technical team as needed
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure all technical equipment is always nicely organized and clean
Assist team members in sourcing cables, hardware, and other equipment
Manage software licenses and credentials
Assist in setting up and tearing down new workstations
Provides daily support to technical leads
Handles expense reports for leads and team members as needed
Procure software and hardware as needed by production
Basic Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
1+ years of experience working in television animation, feature animation, or video games
Highly versed with technical equipment and gear
Must be able to trouble shoot basic software and hardware related issues
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs
Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Must be comfortable driving to purchase equipment and gear as needed
Highly organized and detail oriented
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Proven ability to meet deadlines and keep a team on schedule
Experience working in a fast-paced environment
Is a team player, who genuinely enjoys working with others
Must have a positive attitude and encourage collaboration
DESIRED SKILLS:
Previous Experience with Unreal Engine
Previous Experience with Maya
Experience using Perforce or other Version Control Software
Previous Experience building computers or working on other technical builds

No applicant for employment with CBS is ever required to pay any money as part of the job application or hiring process, and CBS’s job recruitment process involves in person and/or telephonic interviews in most cases.
In addition, CBS’s job recruiting staff sends email communications to job applicants from “@cbs.com” email accounts only. Any email that states to be from CBS but does not have a “@cbs.com” address should be assumed to be fraudulent.
Recognizing Recruiting Fraud
The following are warning signs of recruiting fraud:
- You are required to provide your credit card, bank account number(s) or other personal financial information as part of the “job application” process.
- The open position does not appear on the company’s website listing of job positions.
- The contact email address contains a domain other than “@cbs.com”, such as “@live.com”, “@gmail.com”, or another personal email account.
- The position required an initial monetary investment, such as a payment by wire transfer.
- The posting includes spelling and grammatical errors.
- You are offered a payment or “reward” in exchange for allowing the use of your bank account (e.g., for depositing checks or transferring money related to employment).
- You are asked to provide a photo of yourself.
- The job posting does not mention required qualifications and job responsibilities, but instead focuses on the amount of money to be made.
- The job posting reflects initial pay that is high compared to the average compensation for the position type.
- The "employer" contacts you by phone, but there is no way to call them back or the number is not active or goes only to a voice message box.
