DESCRIPTION:

Division Overview:

The CBSi Central Audience Development team in our Burbank office provides marketing, editorial, and creative services to the CBSi O&O websites, including: CBS.com, CNET, Gamespot, PopCulture.com and TVGuide.

Role Details:

We are looking for a versatile digital designer to join our eclectic central creative team, helping us drive editorial, social and marketing projects on many different CBSi brands.

We're looking for designer with a strong editorial sensibility to cook up fun, effective creatives for Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Snapchat and whatever's next. One day you might be adapting assets built by another creative team, the next day you'll be working on a brand new campaign that just came in the door. You'll also be making memes and motion graphics, and doing some light site UX and logo design.

Everything our team does is guided by performance and analytics, and that includes design work. Our partners count on us to provide creatives that deliver on their KPIs, and we constantly A/B test, optimize and brainstorm new approaches.

You'll often need to work across several established brands, all in the same day. Our team builds content and assets for paid marketing projects, but we do not see ourselves as a marketing team. We are editorial at heart, and guided by analytics. Our partners count on us to bring them cutting edge ideas, quick executions and results.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Creating a consistent stream of engaging, shareable content for our sites and platforms

  • Creating a variety of social assets for our partner CBSi core brands

  • Optimizing and fine-tuning those assets, based on analytics

  • Site and logo design for smaller sites run by our team

  • Design and UX work for projects in development

  • Making memes, social stories and other light motion graphics for various campaigns

  • Creating graphics / visual elements for use in short pop culture videos

  • Participating in weekly brainstorming sessions with writers and producers

  • Whatever else comes up, honestly. And a lot comes up

QUALIFICATIONS:

What you bring to the team:

You have -

  • The ability to craft creative graphics—quickly, in all kinds of flavors—that pop in any digital environment and help drive KPIs (subscriber growth, clicks, etc.)

  • Ability to optimize, improve and adapt based on feedback and analytics

  • A strong editorial sensibility

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience)

  • Minimum 2 years experience in digital design

  • Knowledge of pop culture, internet culture and current trends in social media

  • Experience adapting to fast moving timelines and priorities

  • The ability to work independently, and then collaboratively, as needed

  • Track record for hitting deadlines

  • An A+ portfolio of social media and editorial storytelling

  • Strong design sense, clean command over typography

  • A sense of humor
