Role Details:

We are seeking a Lead, QA Operations team member for and the CBS All Access applications. The role will think critically about the level of testing required that makes sense for each change being worked on in each stage of that change's lifecycle for changes that apply across multiple platforms. Our ideal candidate will thrive on analyzing and improving QA team processes while managing a small team (3-4 people) to ensure that testing is detailed and efficient.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Manage QA Testers working on cross-platform initiatives and teams, mainly API, CMS, and A/B tests

  • Manage QA Testers and Analysts to ensure QA processes are continually improving

  • Act as key point of contact for all QA aspects of releases, providing QA services and coordinating QA resources internally and externally

  • Lead and mentor QA teammates, as well as manage outside contract testers

  • Diagnose defects and track them from discovery to resolution

  • Work closely with manager to call out issues in the process or with the product and ensure that the main focus is on the quality of the product

  • Create detailed, comprehensive and structured test plans and test cases

  • Additional other duties and responsibilities, as assigned

Key Projects:

  • Analyze current cross-platform testing processes and ensure information is passed to the other QA teams as needed

  • Work with automation team to automate regression use cases

  • Analyze processes on a scrum team level and work with manager and rest of scrum team to continually improve scrum team workflows

  • Document and distribute information on new features to ensure that the QA team is prepared to test when feature builds are generated

  • Prepare a month ahead to ensure resources and dependencies for testing are resolved or called out before or during feature development



What you bring to the team:

You have -

  • Experience with API, CMS, and/or A/B testing systems

  • Experience working within agile scrum teams and closely working with engineers, product managers, and project managers

  • Ability to write/execute test cases/suites for multi-platform application software

  • Experience with Charles Proxy, Wireshark, and/or Fiddler

  • Highly organized, detail oriented, extremely responsive and able to prioritize a large number of tasks

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

  • Work to continually improve testing efficiency - including for regression testing

  • Familiarity with entire software development process and test cycles (Unit, Regression, Functional, Systems, Performance and Volume, User Acceptance)

You might also have -

  • BA/BS in computer science or any related technical field, or equivalent work experience

  • Actively tested for defects across multiple platforms

  • Detailed and effective written communication skills for documenting the features tested and bugs found

  • Strong understanding of agile test tools and methodologies
