DESCRIPTION:

Role Details:

The Senior Manager, Business Intelligence will manage a team of analysts as part of the CBS Digital Media Data & Insights group. The team is responsible for identifying business, editorial, and product opportunities, challenges, and trends and communicating those findings effectively to a variety of stakeholders within and related to CBS Television Distribution (CTD) Digital. CTD Digital produces and manages an online portfolio that includes Entertainment Tonight, Inside Edition, Dr. Phil, StarTrek.com, and others. It also includes an AVOD streaming service—ET LIVE—serving pop culture news and shows 24/7. This role is responsible for guiding the team of analysts through project planning, report and experiment design and development, tracking and measurement requirement development, insight and analysis creation, stakeholder relationship building and communication, while keeping an eye towards competitors, and the digital media industry for disruptors, threats, and opportunities.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Project planning and prioritization including shepherding major initiatives and steering multi-analyst/multi-team projects

  • Identifying and reviewing tracking and measurement requirements, data sourcing and structure, and validating that data

  • Reviewing, designing, and developing reports, visualizations, and dashboards

  • Setting standards for data experiments and statistical analysis

  • Presenting insights, analyses, and recommendations in a narrative fashion tailored to any data customer up to and including executives

  • Participate in conversations with Senior Leadership about opportunities and challenges

  • Lead, guide, educate, and critique data preparation work from end-to-end

  • Lead, guide, educate, and critique spreadsheet modeling and statistical analysis

  • Lead, manage, and guide a team of analysts with a variety of skill sets, responsibilities, and data customers

Key Projects:

  • Support the General Manager and other Senior Leads in strategic and tactical decision-making and understanding the health of the business through Key Performance Indicators

  • Build a robust revenue-centric suite of reporting tools

  • Develop and optimize the Executive Dashboard tailored to the changing needs of the business

  • People managing, hiring, and development

  • Maintain and enhance the team’s reputation for delivering high-impact insights and recommendations through data storytelling

QUALIFICATIONS:

What you bring to the team:

You have -

  • BA/BS or equivalent training and experience in Business Analytics, advanced course-work or training a plus

  • 4+ years of experience in online video/digital media with data analysis as a key component of the work

  • Demonstrable experience leading teams

  • A proven track record of delivering actionable analysis and insights particularly to senior leadership

  • Communicates clearly and succinctly, adjusts to a variety of styles and audiences and tells compelling stories with data

  • Proficiency in web analytics, video analytics (Adobe Analytics and/or other robust data solutions)

  • Adept with presentation tools and services (Google Docs, Tableau, Google Data Studio, Keynote, PowerPoint, etc.)

You might also have -

  • A background in news/online publishing and/or experience in television/OTT

  • Aptitude in statistical modeling, scripting languages, and/or SQL and GCP data tools
