CBS Marketing is looking for someone who has extensive experience in developing and managing a global content brand, its related sub-brands and content components. As the SVP, Global Brand Strategy and Planning, you will be responsible for understanding the makeup of the CBS brand and create a strategic pathway to enable growth on a domestic and a global scale. You will work with the president and CMO to assess, develop and manage the articulation of the CBS brand, as you track and measure key brand health metrics to effectively manage growth on a global scale. You will lead a team that organizes and prioritizes a wide range of content types across the company, as you create mechanisms to provide leadership and working teams with robust, data-oriented approaches that effectively manage resources. You will manage a company-wide Marketing Council that will seek-out, prioritize and coordinate marketing opportunities across CBS and its sister companies. Additionally, you will lead a team that develops holistic and strategic marketing strategies and go-to-market plans across individual programs and platform and media channel types across entertainment, news, sports and other types of content that is branded CBS. You will be a key member of the CBS Marketing leadership team and will work closely with the leadership and marketing teams across CBS Entertainment, CBS Studios, CBS Interactive and CBS Global Television Distribution. The position reports to the president and CMO of CBS.
Develop systems and mechanisms to effectively benchmark and track key brand metrics.
Develop and implement strategies that provide clear pathways for brand and business growth.
Set clear objectives, develop brand engagement strategies and provide clear articulation of brand strategies to a wide range of executives, business units and stakeholders.
Gather, analyze and apply relevant customer insights and data to help define effective, innovative and strategic brand marketing approaches.
Build and lead an internal team of best-in-class brand marketing strategists.
Build and implement strategies that provide the most advantageous opportunity to gain significant and valid recognition by our audiences and the industry.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with teams across the company, including our sister companies.
Develop mechanisms that provide open and clear communication of marketing priorities across the company as a whole and within individual business units.
Develop and manage a Marketing Council that provides continual opportunity for collaboration, innovation and priority alignment across the company.
Create an effective strategy for the holistic management of the CBS brand identity, with appropriate and effective integration of the CBS brand into all content marketing activities.
Collaborate with CBS Research and CBS Interactive to develop and acquire appropriate and cost-effective systems and mechanisms to gain and measure customer insights, usage data, tracking and analysis.
Manage a team that develops all strategic go-to-market content plans, including audience targeting, messaging, positioning strategies, paid media/creative/social media briefs and integrated engagement plans.
Measure outputs against internal and external measures and deliver continuous improvement.
15+ years of experience in global brand development and marketing.
Bachelor’s degree. MBA preferred.
Relevant entertainment marketing and team management experience with a major studio, media company, streaming service, brand and/or marketing agency, consumer marketing, marketing communications and/or digital/high-technology consumer companies/products.
Experience leading brand development and strategic planning process.
Experience in developing robust and performance-oriented go-to-market plans for a wide range of content types.
