CBS Television Stations consists of 29 owned-and-operated stations, including 16 that are part of the CBS Television Network, eight affiliates of The CW Network, three independent stations and two MyNetworkTV affiliates. Among its stations are WCBS-TV and WLNY-TV (New York), KCBS-TV and KCAL-TV (Los Angeles), WBBM-TV (Chicago), KYW-TV and WPSG-TV (Philadelphia), KTVT-TV and KTXA-TV (Dallas-Ft. Worth), KPIX-TV and KBCW-TV (San Francisco), WBZ-TV and WSBK-TV (Boston), WUPA-TV (Atlanta), WWJ-TV and WKBD-TV (Detroit), KSTW-TV (Seattle), WTOG-TV (Tampa-St. Petersburg), WCCO-TV (Minneapolis), KCNC-TV (Denver), WFOR-TV and WBFS-TV (Miami), KOVR-TV and KMAX-TV (Sacramento), KDKA-TV and WPCW-TV (Pittsburgh), WJZ-TV (Baltimore), as well as WCCO-TV’s satellite stations KCCO-TV (Alexandria, Minn.) and KCCW-TV (Walker, Minn.).
Manage all financial aspects of production operations for the WCBS-TV / WLNY-TV / CBSN New York Newsroom, Engineering Maintenance, Field Operations, Creative Services and Control Rooms / Master Control. Duties include production budgeting, cost analysis, expense tracking, reporting and accounting.
Work with department heads to develop monthly forecast estimates and maintain forecast files. Record and report financial results along with related variances and ad-hoc analysis.
Plan and prepare the annual budget. Coordinate the review and evaluation of all budgets and related financial presentations before they are formally reviewed with senior management. Prepare all supporting schedules and information, including detailed and comprehensive analyses that support the presentation of the Budget and Forecasts.
Prepare monthly journal entries.
Responsible for monthly Balance Sheet Blackline Reconciliations, variance analysis and forecasts.
Maintain programming amortization schedules, barter calculations and FAS 63 Accounting.
Lucernex lease administrator for stations' real estate and equipment leases including preparation of capital lease amortization schedules.
Perform required SOX testing.
Prepare annual federal and state tax packages.
Special projects as required.
A minimum of 3-5 years of accounting/finance experience, television and/or production experience a plus. Corporate Finance experience a plus. Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required; CPA a plus. A team player with the ability to communicate well with department heads and senior management is required. Must be familiar with GAAP industry accounting practices. Must be well-versed in Excel with substantial Oracle general ledger accounting system experience.
