The ideal candidate will capture, analyze and translate the learnings from paid digital and social campaigns into actionable business insights and strategic planning for Simon & Schuster’s titles. Seeking an individual with an entrepreneurial spirit who is excited by the opportunity to build new processes and strategic frameworks for the organization. This role requires working in close partnership with the Advertising/Creative Department and the Web Development group to establish standardized analytics - learnings will be applied across Simon & Schuster.

  • Define key performance indicators and implement enterprise level measurement, analytics, and reporting methods to inform digital campaigns

  • Establish best practices and processes for leveraging campaign planning tools across the organization

  • Perform routine competitive analysis - track engagement metrics, follow trends and monitor mentions

  • Develop methodologies for allocation and optimization of budgets and bidding to drive up sales volume and drive down customer acquisition costs

  • Optimize conversion through multivariate and AB testing through paid media campaigns, organic initiatives, and conversion rate optimization

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify, refine, create and deliver campaign reports and insights to drive their business initiatives

  • Synthesize extensive amounts of detailed data and provide the "big picture" for the organization

  • Ability to build close relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, as well as with key vendor partners

  • Deliver reports on demand to identify within social and paid display campaigns

  • Keep up to date on new technologies in consumer and digital marketing and provide reports and recommendations to VP of Digital Marketing


  • 7+ years of agency experience, book publishing and/or media experience are a plus

  • Must have direct response and e-commerce background and proficiency in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube social platforms, display networks, Google Ad Words, Amazon advertising, and have in-depth knowledge of re-targeting capabilities

  • Ability to evaluate, optimize and deliver reports on the effectiveness and impact of paid social and display campaigns

  • Demonstrated experience translating data to insights and have the ability to recognize trends and opportunities for the organization

  • Attention to detail and the ability to effectively multi-task in a deadline-driven atmosphere

  • Ability to clearly and effectively articulate insights and recommended actions

  • Strong levels of integrity, autonomy, and self-motivation

  • Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills
