The Metadata Media Specialist, Global Media QC Validation will be responsible for the metadata capture, validation, quality control and taxonomy governance of incoming assets for CBS’ Operations and Engineering (COE) media workloads. This process also consists of enforcing metadata tagging models (including the monitoring and correction of machine learning applications). The Metadata Media Specialist will work with various internal and external stakeholders, including product owners, senior managers, and department managers, to continually enhance COE’s content aggregation workflows and future business opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Focus on the maintenance and quality control around incoming metadata and taxonomy of CBS’ content in order to meet current needs.

  • Maintain guidelines and procedures for consistent tag management and content organization.

  • Assist in the creation and implementation of new guidelines and procedures for new content tagging opportunities for future business needs.

  • Curate content as needed.

  • Interface with technical teams as needed to refine applications and processes.

  • Train and support others on use of our applications and processes.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, experience, and talents:

  • A passion for media and entertainment is a must.

  • 3+ years of experience in the media & entertainment industry relating to one or more of the following areas - metadata management, digital audio and video asset management systems/platforms, various multimedia production formats, and international localization

  • Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, Mac OS and Windows OS

  • Knowledge of production and media supply chain’s workflows and best practices

  • Excellent teamwork, written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task under shifting deadlines within a fast-paced environment

  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, team player who is results-driven
