CBS Television Stations consists of 29 owned-and-operated stations, including 16 that are part of the CBS Television Network, eight affiliates of The CW Network, three independent stations and two MyNetworkTV affiliates. Among its stations are WCBS-TV and WLNY-TV (New York), KCBS-TV and KCAL-TV (Los Angeles), WBBM-TV (Chicago), KYW-TV and WPSG-TV (Philadelphia), KTVT-TV and KTXA-TV (Dallas-Ft. Worth), KPIX-TV and KBCW-TV (San Francisco), WBZ-TV and WSBK-TV (Boston), WUPA-TV (Atlanta), WWJ-TV and WKBD-TV (Detroit), KSTW-TV (Seattle), WTOG-TV (Tampa-St. Petersburg), WCCO-TV (Minneapolis), KCNC-TV (Denver), WFOR-TV and WBFS-TV (Miami), KOVR-TV and KMAX-TV (Sacramento), KDKA-TV and WPCW-TV (Pittsburgh), WJZ-TV (Baltimore), as well as WCCO-TV’s satellite stations KCCO-TV (Alexandria, Minn.) and KCCW-TV (Walker, Minn.).
The VP Digital Sales will bring CBS Local Media's new Video Everywhere value proposition to life. The position reports to the SVP, Multimedia Sales.
Identify key prospects and build a strategic sales approach with SVP to support ongoing new business growth.
Manage, develop and lead a team of sellers including overseeing their sales pipeline and activity, training them on effective sales tactics and supporting their achievement of revenue targets.
Develop creative and innovative concepts with SVP for new business presentations and maximize sales opportunities (across all products).
Present company/product positioning and overview of the business to key prospects, agency partners and internal clients.
Become a champion of understanding prospect's and client's key goals and workflows.
Identify market product opportunities, and then work with sales and product/ad ops specialists and creative team to develop market best collateral.
Regular travel required to maintain and build CBS Local Media's digital revenue across all markets and client relationships.
Identify relevant industry events where CBS Local Media should be visible and ensure team is present.
Develop monthly goals to drive revenue for yourself and team members and report progress against them on a weekly basis.
Accurately report revenue forecasts against monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets with sound rationale and advertiser insights.
Analyze weekly revenue reports with SVP to determine poor performance areas and implement solution to ensure targets are met.
Create an annual sales plan with the SVP, Multimedia Sales that ensures CBS Local Media is positioned for revenue growth. The plan should cover: product positioning, client strategies, entertainment, staff development and financial goals.
Work with Ad Ops and product teams to create a sales strategy that ensures revenue, product and sales culture success.
Analyze market research data and develop quarterly strategies to break into new under-developed markets/agencies.
Ensure effective communication to management on agency portfolios and major accounts.
Regular phone calls covering key sales statistics, market intelligence, client and feedback and fast facts.
Established connections within the online advertising industry.
Established relationships with agencies and advertisers and a proven track record of driving revenue.
6-8 years experience selling direct to agencies and advertisers.
2-4 years direct experience managing people.
Expert in digital media and advertising technology. Specifically, video and programmatic solutions.
Strong strategic and analytical skills and able to provide creative solutions to client needs.
A passion for building lifelong relationships with clients, vendors and team members.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal team members.
Strong leadership traits and ability to mentor and coach others.
Highly developed written and verbal presentation skills.
Bachelor's degree in related field.
