Network 10 Sydney has an exciting opportunity for a DevOps Engineer. Working as part of the Infrastructure and Technology Team, you will bring your development experience to build, develop and support IT and IP based Media systems both on-premise and cloud based within the television, digital and corporate environments. This role will have a strong focus on development side DevOps, as well as on going system administration.

Coming from a development background and working within the Technology team, you will have the ability to innovate current and new practices across a number of platforms in both media and corporate areas.

Requirements for the role:

  • Infrastructure automation & integration. Strong experience across Bamboo, CloudFormation and Ansible.

  • Work between Business Systems, Digital Media and Infrastructure teams to support the design, development and deployment of Cloud based systems and applications.

  • Strong Software development experience using Python.

  • Strong experience with docker based applications.

  • Key support resource for Operations and Digital Media, able to collaborate and contribute as a team member to any technical challenges presented.

  • DevSecOps security experience and mindset.

  • Senior level systems administration across Linux, Windows and Virtual platforms.

  • Effective communication with internal stakeholders and external professional services parties.

  • A positive, can-do attitude who learns quickly, shares knowledge, embraces change.

Any digital media experience would be an advantage.


The successful candidate will have relevant qualifications and industry-based experience in the following areas:

  • Demonstrable experience with automation and deployment tools (Bamboo, Ansible).

  • Demonstrable experience in cloud technologies including CloudFormation, infrastructure as code and AWS is a must.

  • Demonstrable experience in one or more scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash, etc).

  • A detailed knowledge of Linux & Windows Systems Administration and architectures.

  • Performance monitoring and capacity planning skills.

  • Experience working within an Agile work practice environment.

  • Project planning and documentation.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an ability to:

  • Work well in high pressure, time critical situations.

  • Work well in a cross functional team environment

  • An ability to accurately and quickly assess and resolve problems.

  • Operate in a professional and courteous manner.

  • Be an effective communicator.
