CBS Television Stations consists of 29 owned-and-operated stations, including 16 that are part of the CBS Television Network, eight affiliates of The CW Network, three independent stations and two MyNetworkTV affiliates. Among its stations are WCBS-TV and WLNY-TV (New York), KCBS-TV and KCAL-TV (Los Angeles), WBBM-TV (Chicago), KYW-TV and WPSG-TV (Philadelphia), KTVT-TV and KTXA-TV (Dallas-Ft. Worth), KPIX-TV and KBCW-TV (San Francisco), WBZ-TV and WSBK-TV (Boston), WUPA-TV (Atlanta), WWJ-TV and WKBD-TV (Detroit), KSTW-TV (Seattle), WTOG-TV (Tampa-St. Petersburg), WCCO-TV (Minneapolis), KCNC-TV (Denver), WFOR-TV and WBFS-TV (Miami), KOVR-TV and KMAX-TV (Sacramento), KDKA-TV and WPCW-TV (Pittsburgh), WJZ-TV (Baltimore), as well as WCCO-TV’s satellite stations KCCO-TV (Alexandria, Minn.) and KCCW-TV (Walker, Minn.).
KPIX-TV/KBCW-TV/CBSN is looking for a Strategic Marketing / Sales Manager with a proven history of developing opportunities to grow sales revenue. This individual will create and manage compelling marketing opportunities, collateral and insights for current and potential advertisers in the creation of innovative, customized sales presentations and marketing case studies to drive revenue within our duopoly. The ideal candidate for this position is an innovative thinker who formulates short- and long-term strategies and leads by example.
Description of responsibilities:
Create and lead revenue generating opportunities for the local sales team
Prospect, develop and manage partnerships for high-profile marketing projects that lead to new revenue opportunities for CBS SF.
Manage local tent pole and community event details.
Attend sales calls with the Account Executives.
Participation in weekly sales meetings.
Develop and customize marketing campaigns for San Francisco Bay Area companies.
Collaborate with our local creative services and production departments.
Assist in the creation, organization, and administration of a comprehensive marketing library of sales tools using primary marketing and production case studies that drive new business development.
Perform other functions or special projects as assigned.
Five years of relevant full-time experience in sales, marketing, communications and client strategy project management.
Media sales management experience in a top 10 market
Excellent writing, editing, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, allowing one to work effectively with colleagues and clients, solve problems, and communicate customized marketing campaign strategy for clients of KPIX/KBCW/CBSN.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
A strong understanding of the uses and basic mechanics of electronic media.
Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and work independently, multi-task, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects at once.
Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of current desktop publishing software, preferably Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
Basic understanding of various research tools and related data.
