DESCRIPTION:

ELECTRIC (#40 SHOP)

  • Maintain operational readiness of all power systems and backup power systems.

  • Provide electrical service for production (i.e. generator operator, work lights, wind machines, house lights).

  • Provide maintenance on electrical equipment and panels. Maintain inventory of parts, supplies, wire for repair.

  • Coordinate all Electrical projects, including new construction, insuring timely completion of contract performance.

  • Track budget center expense. Oversee billing for all 40 Shop services.

  • Research and prepare capital projects for new equipment and infrastructure replacement/upgrades and new projects.

  • Coordinate activities to insure services meet current industry standards and electrical code regulations.

AIR CONDITIONING

  • Maintain operational readiness of all air conditioning/heating systems.

  • Provide service for production (i.e. open/close, stage adjustments).

  • Provide maintenance on air conditioning units and controls. Maintain inventory of parts and supplies for repair.

  • Coordinate all A/C projects, including new construction, insuring timely completion of contract performance.

  • Track budget center expense. Oversee billing for all Air Conditioning Shop services.

  • Research and prepare capital projects for new equipment and infrastructure replacement/upgrades and new projects.

  • Coordinate activities to insure services meet current industry standards and mechanical code regulations.

FIRE AND SECURITY SYSTEMS

  • Coordinate and interface with Security and EH&S departments as they relate to Security and Safety systems.

MEDICAL

  • Provide Local #767 Nurse staffing as required by facility agreements and producer requirements.

  • Contract with Medical Director to assure compliance with industry standards and Federal, State and OSHA regulations.

FACILITIES MAINTENANCE

  • Direct maintenance activities.

  • Maintain inventory of parts and materials for repair.

  • Provide labor crews.

  • Coordinate all in-house and outside contractor activity insuring timely completion and contract performance.

CONSTRUCTION

  • Oversee office renovation and remodeling.

  • Design, develop and reconfigure space.

New Construction

  • Oversee all new construction projects (stages, office buildings, bungalows, support space);

  • Coordinate in-house and contractor activity.

LABOR #724

  • Oversee Labor #724 activities; grounds maintenance, trash removal, re-cycle program, gardening.

  • Provide Labor services to Studio operating departments and Facilities Maintenance.

ENVIRONMENTAL

  • Coordinate Studio’s landfill diversion operation to ensure compliance with City of Los Angeles RecycLA program.

  • Manage Studio’s paint waste disposal operation to ensure compliance with Federal EPA requirements.

  • Oversee Studio’s renewable energy programs (solar power and fuel cells).

  • Oversee Pulp Art Surfaces environmentally-friendly set construction materials.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in Physical, Mechanical or Structural Engineering.

  • Minimum ten years working experience as Facilities Engineer or related position.

  • Knowledge of security system technologies.

  • Entertainment industry standards and practices relating to production company electrical requirements.

  • Knowledge of installation, operation and maintenance of air conditioning/heating systems.

  • Knowledge of Federal, State and local electrical code and regulations.

  • Knowledge of Federal, State and local codes/regulations relating to industrial security practices, loss prevention and investigation, emergency procedures and practices, occupational safety (OSHA), public assembly and fire prevention.

  • In-depth knowledge of IBEW Local 40, IATSE and Nurse Local #767 contracts.

  • Strong PC skills in a local area network environment with Windows, Excel, Word and Outlook mandatory.

  • Ability to prepare budgets, forecast expense, control job costs.

  • Knowledge of Studio physical plant and operating department functions.

  • Strong inter-personal skills - heavy client contact and interface with Studio operating departments.
