90’s Nick fans. Noughties Nick fans. Nowadays Nick fans. We are looking for the Nickelodeon obsessed to come and join our Publicity team on a 3-6 month FTC as a Publicist.Does this sound like you?

You’ve been watching Nickelodeon since you were a Rugrat and are more obsessed with making the world a more playful place than Helga was with Arnold.

You’ve seen the brand transition over the years from a TV channel into the Turtle-y diverse multi-media entertainment brand it is today and you just can’t wait to bring your creative flair to the slime-filled world of Nickelodeon.

Reporting to the Publicity and Communications Manager, this role acts as an administrative support for the Communications team. In this role, you will be responsible for generating positive media exposure and public awareness for Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. Channels’ programming campaigns and other publicity and communications related activities across Australia and NZ.

What you would be doing

  • Developing high quality, effective publicity material including writing press releases and creating original, effective press kits for tentpole programming to deadline.

  • Executing consumer press campaigns and events to raise the profile of Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. tentpole program properties and new show launches.

  • Coordinating and launching publicity for local and international productions

  • Continually develop and maintain a strong database of kid and entertainment press contacts, as well as talent / celebrities / key influencers for both Nickelodeon and Nick Jr.

  • Compile PCA campaign reports and communicate coverage results.

  • Preparing and distributing monthly highlights for STV platform partners to deadline and promptly action and communicate changes to schedule.

  • Support trade communications, particularly for Consumer Products.

  • Represent Nickelodeon by attending key industry events as required.

  • Communicate with Nickelodeon and ViacomCBS international teams on a regular basis to request talent interviews and required assets to support programming highlights and events.

  • Cover department administrative tasks, such as daily newspaper / magazine reporting and filing, media monitoring, reporting, raising POs, invoicing and budget tracking.

What you bring

  • 2+ years’ experience working in Publicity/PR

  • Entertainment / TV industry experience

  • Proficient in MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint) and intermediate Photoshop skills

  • Pop culture knowledge and social media savvy

  • Current trade and consumer media knowledge

  • A passionate advocate for kids entertainment

  • Results-focused with ability to identify opportunities

  • Excellent organisational skills

  • Ability to assess and prioritise competing deadlines and multi-task confidently under pressure
