CBS News seeks an Audio Technician that will be responsible for operating audio consoles and communication systems in a live, pre-recorded, and breaking news environment. This person will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining audio inventory and systems using best industry practices within a dynamic, fast paced, deadline driven 24/7 operation.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Video/Film Production or related field. Professional experience in lieu of education will be considered.
A minimum of 3 years of direct experience in an active live news or production environment.
Proficiency with Windows and Mac computer platforms.
Dante Certification preferred.
Familiarity with audio matrices
Knowledgeable of audio transport methods e.g. (SMPTE 2110-30/31, AES3, AES67, MADI, etc..)
Demonstrated audio production skills.
Ability to perform consistently in a deadline driven, live television environment.
Demonstrated proficiency on a variety of control room audio equipment: Calrec Artemis and Calrec Brio preferred.
Ability to multitask and demonstrate sound judgement when working independently will be essential. A commitment to excellence and to ongoing education in audio production and to the mastery of their craft will be most helpful.
