We are looking for someone who can lead, organize and motivate the most creative team of producers, designers, editors and writers in Chicago.

The Promotion Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Creative Services department. Under the leadership of the Creative Services Director, the Promotion Manager will plan, schedule, budget, and manage the production of strategic image and topical promotions for CBS CHICAGO (WBBM-TV) on all platforms. As well marketing and branding for CBSN Chicago, the hyperlocal OTT outlet for CBS and CBS Chicago content. This position reports directly to the Creative Services Director.


Motivate and challenge creative team members.

Manage the execution of promotional plans that support company directives and those of senior management.

Supervise Creative Services writer/producers and manage the direction of daily topical promotions.

Act as liaison with News management for image and special report promotion.

Manage log strategy and serve as back-up scheduler.

Use and interpret research to develop and maintain marketing strategy on-air, online and on social.

Produce, write and edit strategic image campaigns, topicals and special project promotions.

Oversee the marketing and promotion of wide-ranging community and sales initiatives

Approve copy and manage daily promo production.

Maintain daily and monthly calendars for production assignments.

Work with Digital Managing Editor to execute promotion and social media plan.

Collaborate with Design Director in the creation of branding elements, logos, print ads, etc.

Collaborate with station partners and sponsors on marketing big events.


PREFFERED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Min 3 -5 years TV/cable/digital media experience as a manager or senior producer. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and other non-linear editing platforms. Knowledge of media planning and buying a plus.
