Overview and Responsibilities

We are seeking a dynamic, artist-friendly development pro, who deeply values the creative process to join our Viacom Digital Studios team, supporting the creative growth of Nickelodeon Studios. The VP, Digital Development will oversee all creative aspects of development, production and post-production for both scripted and unscripted formats, interacting with key stakeholders during this process. In this role, you will seek out and assess pilot proposals, scripts, and pitches, including making recommendations on submissions to enter into development, and provide feedback. In addition:

  • Oversee production of greenlit series for premium quality and cost efficiency

  • You will lead and mentor a team of junior development executives and creatives on each project you lead

  • Work with creatives and writers to develop digital show concepts and formats

  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with producers, directors, writers, actors, influencers, and vendors to engage with at each stage of a project

  • Attend weekly business, development and production meetings as required

  • You are accountable for driving the execution of Nickelodeon Digital’s vision and goals

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience with a network or production company or related experience

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience working in unscripted television series development

  • Demonstrated experience in the influencer space and the kids space

  • Strong relationships with Content Buyers, Agents, Producers, and Managers

  • Strong storytelling and hands-on production skills; Showrunning experience is a plus

  • A self-starter, who is assertive, enthusiastic, and highly motivated!

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative, and high-energy environment

  • Collaborative teammate who works well with others

  • Comfortable in a high-growth, highly dynamic business environment

  • Role based in Los Angeles with some domestic travel as needed
