DESCRIPTION:

The Administrative Assistant provides crucial support to the entire CBS News Marketing department and its daily production of all news promotion. This position assists the Head of News Marketing with day to day meetings, approvals and distribution of promotional materials to news broadcast executives as well as daily and timely administrative duties for the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the Head of News Marketing, including answering phones, taking messages, maintaining calendar and meetings.

  • Managing incoming and outgoing mail/packages, maintaining files, and providing good judgment in monitoring and prioritizing information and meetings throughout the day.

  • Coordinate all travel arrangements and maintain expense reports on a timely basis.

  • Coordinate daily administrative functions for the department, including staff meeting arrangements, publicity logging, distribution of daily promotion rundowns, mail distribution, ordering supplies and any other day to day requests.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills/Requirements:

  • College degree required. Marketing major preferred.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the internet resources.

  • Impeccable organizational skills.

  • Extremely good with details.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and tasks under pressure.

  • Ability to interact with individuals internally and externally at all levels.

  • Ability to be pro-active, anticipate scheduling/organizational challenges and suggest solutions in a timely manner.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.
