The Director, Product Payments drives Showtime’s payments roadmap and leads management of the subscription platforms our customers use to purchase subscriptions to the SHOWTIME stand-alone streaming service. In this role, your focus will be on maximizing revenue and on defining and promoting ways that we can use our partners’ and our own billing capabilities to deliver on business and marketing opportunities that create SHOWTIME connects.
You will collaborate closely with payment providers and cross-department stakeholders to evolve and deliver purchase capabilities for the SHOWTIME standalone streaming service. You will work to improve the user experience by expanding payments capability and facilitating features, marketing and promotions that further SHOWTIME subscriber growth and retention goals.
In the process of doing so, you will apply your technical and business acumen to translate business strategies into product strategies and product requirements that deliver against an improved customer experience and the company’s strategic and financial objectives.
This role places a premium on someone who is effective at simplifying complex payment processes, identifying areas for innovation through third parties, coordinating cross-functional teams (e.g. Product Analytics, Marketing, Legal, Finance) and leading developers to bring new features to market.
Be the payments expert for the streaming service’s payment platform including billing partner capabilities, new payment methods, advancements in the digital subscription payments space, and understanding the competition
Manage customer-facing and internal payments strategy and roadmap
Organize and drive features that deliver reliable payment and recurring billing experiences
Manage third party vendor relationships, identifying necessary and/or desirable features and overseeing platform troubleshooting or integrations
Drive testing and optimization of the payment experience
Assess feasibility and launch features that support identified new revenue and promotional opportunities
Specify, prioritize and communicate high level and detailed specifications using written requirements, flows and use cases
Use Agile development practices and the Atlassian suite of tools to communicate requirements, develop documentation and manage development work
Coordinate post-launch activities to validate that payment features work as designed and that processes dependent on the feature successfully complete acceptance testing
3 to 5 years of product or program management experience
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions
Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage tradeoffs and evaluate new ideas with internal and external partners
Strong technical acumen along with knowledge of product or program management principles
Experience working with some of the following: credit card payments, third-party payment platforms, recurring billing, app store billing and product payment funnels/experiences
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to function effectively and delivery consistently when faced with frequently changing and sometimes ambiguous goals
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in recurring subscription billing
Media or entertainment industry experience
