CBS Corporation is seeking an Affiliate Relations Manager to join our team in New York. Acting under the general supervision of an Affiliate Relations Director, the Affiliate Relations Manager will assume primary responsibility for negotiating and enforcing assorted network affiliation agreements; working with an assigned Affiliate Relations Director advancing Network and Affiliate communications and initiatives by interacting with CBS station representatives from various CBS markets on a weekly basis.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Assisting in building and maintaining a positive, productive relationship between the Network and its affiliate stations.

Maintaining current program clearance information for CBS in several markets.

Contacting stations to determine clearance information and resolve discrepancies.

Input all program information into industry data base system.

Heavy daily phone contact with stations.



The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years’ experience in affiliate relations and/or news producing or station marketing. Finance and Marketing experience is a plus.

College degree required. Advanced degree in business, finance, or marketing preferred.

Ability to identify actionable opportunities and effectuate change on an individual market basis in all areas of the television station to achieve maximum value for both CBS and its Affiliates.

Aptitude to provide immediate direction on issues and challenges related to breaking news, sports, satellite issues, formats, LIVE Programming, closed captioning, preemptions, kids’ programming, quarterly reports, sales, entertainment program strategy, scheduling, research, etc.

Detailed knowledge and perspective on the broadcast television industry with a strong understanding of affiliate/distribution agreements.

Strong analytical skills and financial acumen.

Exceptional presentation and negotiating skills necessary to work through complicated, intricate legal business language.

Strong communication skills and a high level of professionalism and comfort working with all levels of the organization, including executive management is required.

Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word.

Some Travel required.
