Division Overview:

Insights play a central role at CBS Interactive, and as part of the Data & Insights Group (DIG), our Research team is a crucial part of our success. This is a great opportunity for a strong researcher to build on their career in the exciting and fast-changing world of online media working on brands such as, and Join a collaborative and passionate team whose work aims to drive business decisions on all levels through high quality, accurate, timely, relevant data, analysis and insights.

Role Details:

This position will manage and conduct a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research to support all stakeholders including product development, marketing, editorial content, and executive management. The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator, knowledgeable about user experience design, have a background in qualitative and quantitative research, and represent the voice of the user.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Act as a thought leader in market research, while advocating for people who use our products

  • Provide senior executives, product and marketing teams with market and consumer research to support strategy and product development

  • Recommend appropriate research methodologies to answer questions from stakeholders

  • Design and execute all phases of quantitative and qualitative research studies including research plan development, questionnaire writing, survey programming, moderating focus groups and individual user interviews, analysis, and report writing

  • Identify projects suitable for A/B testing and work with Business Intelligence to implement

  • Communicate insights in a compelling and creative way through storytelling and data visualization

  • Run ad hoc analyses to answer specific day to day questions or support larger initiatives

  • Work cross-functionally with product management, business intelligence, and marketing

  • Stay abreast of competitive product offerings and user experiences across all platforms

Key Projects:

  • Audience profiling surveys on CBS sites/apps, as well as general market studies using a panel provider

  • 1-on-1 usability testing of our sites/apps, both in-person and online

  • Focus groups for concept testing and editorial content feedback


What you bring to the team:

You have -

  • 3+ years of relevant market research experience with a proven track record of leveraging analytics to drive significant business impact, preferably in digital subscription services and/or digital media

  • Highly competent with quantitative and qualitative data analysis and utilizing data to drive decision-making

  • Experience with survey-based platforms and analysis tools, such as SPSS and Qualtrics

  • Skilled in preparing effective and meaningful presentations with clear narratives and impactful graphics to drive business decisions

  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills, but also able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization

  • Exceptional analytical abilities with strong data analysis, MS Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Have a passion for news and entertainment content

You might also have -

  • Experience working in digital subscription industry strongly preferred
