DESCRIPTION:
CBS Marketing is looking for someone who can build long-term relationships with a broad spectrum of CBS entertainment Talent to ignite conversation and create passion for our shows and brand. This person has extensive experience developing innovative and highly effective Talent marketing campaigns and content strategies to launch, market and maintain social media activities for a wide variety of Talent. As the Director, Talent Marketing, you will be responsible for Talent marketing and strategy efforts for CBS, effectively engaging users across all types of social media platforms and leading our efforts to manage key Talent. You will gather appropriate data to effectively set objectives, identify target audiences and develop, produce, implement and measure strategies, tactics and content plans that are coordinated with broader marketing and content initiatives. You must thrive on creativity and innovation, working to inspire a multifunctional and diverse team with a management approach that is collaborative and courageous.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop, implement and manage a clear strategic vision and strategy for all Talent activities across CBS original TV programs, series and specials
Develop big, innovative and ground-breaking ideas that work to define our social media voice while enhancing the CBS brand
Partner closely with the talent to create a toolset that makes it easier and more fulfilling for them to promote their fanbase across various platforms
Partner closely with PR and communications to ensure Talent receives support and important initiatives are coordinated across platforms
Build and manage highly positive relationships and work effectively with executive producers/showrunners, talent, publicists, agents, managers and media outlets
Ensure that new and existing Talent has the right amount of support and exposure to reach their full potential
Manage the development of all Talent marketing plans, including overall strategies and integrated engagement initiatives for both paid and organic efforts
Set clear objectives, identify targets and set engagement strategies across a multitude of content types including original entertainment series and specials
Build and implement strategies that provide the most advantageous opportunity to gain significant and valid recognition by our audiences and the industry
Gather, analyze and apply relevant data and customer insights to help define effective and innovative strategic approaches
Measure outputs against internal and external efforts
Be aligned with the communications and publicity teams on messaging and release of information, video and images
Collaborate effectively with CBS Marketing team leadership including media, creative and promotion teams
Work collaboratively across a wide-range of business units, including CBS Entertainment, CBS Studios, ViacomCBS Digital, CBS News, CBS Sports, CBS Interactive, CBS Television Stations and other CBS-branded businesses and sister companies
Work to develop and implement new processes and mechanisms that will ultimately improve team performance, creativity, communication, collaboration
QUALIFICATIONS:
Work Experience:
5+ years of experience in social media, talent marketing, PR and/or an agency.
Relevant social media marketing and strategy experience with a major studio, media company, streaming service, brand and/or entertainment marketing agency
Experience leading social media strategic planning, creative development and implementation processes
Experience interacting with talent
Experience gathering and interpreting social media data
Experience with paid social media planning and implementation is preferable
Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to develop forward-thinking ideas for a wide range of entertainment marketing asset types, designed to drive customer acquisition/retention as we deepen audience engagement and enhance the CBS brand position
Exceptional understanding of social and digital platforms
Exemplary team player able to build relationships quickly with internal and external stakeholders with a wide range of personality types
Professional experience in a leadership position overseeing a dynamic, diverse creative marketing team
A proven leader who motivates, inspires and drives progressive creative thinking
Comfortable in a test-and-learn environment
Ability to influence direction on a wide range of department issues
Possess strong decision-making skills and can operate with significant autonomy and discretion
